FFL Transfer Guidelines & Policies

Congrats! You’ve purchased a firearm online—now it’s time for the all-important FFL Transfer! Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Our process is smooth, fast, and (dare we say) almost as fun as shooting at the range! Follow this easy guide, and you'll be holding your new firearm in no time.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: After purchasing your firearm, ensure the seller has our contact information, most of the popular dealers already do. If they don’t, just have them reach out to us via phone or email at nordstromgunsmith@gmail.com and we will provide them with the necessary details. The firearm can then be shipped to us. Please make sure the below documentation is complete to avoid delays.

The Seller should Include the following in the package:
1. A copy of their FFL license.
2. Your full name and a reliable phone number.
3. A copy of your invoice or sales receipt. If sales tax wasn’t collected, Nevada tax will be due at pickup.

Step 2: Once your firearm arrives, please wait for us to contact you. Tracking updates or early visits do not speed up processing. We will notify you as soon as your item is ready for pickup.

After Arrival: We will process and log the firearm in accordance with ATF requirements. This may take some time.

Pickup Policy:
You have 7 days from the time we notify you to pick up your firearm. After that, we charge a $5 per day storage fee (unless prior arrangements are made). Firearms not picked up within 30 days will be considered abandoned and may be forfeited.

Thank You!

We appreciate you choosing us for your transfer. We promise that your purchase will be treated with the utmost care. And if anything goes wrong, we’ll help you sort it out, because you’re not just a customer—you’re family. The kind of family that follows guidelines, but still knows how to have fun.

Transfer Guidelines & Store Policies

1. Nevada ID: If you don’t have one stating your current residence, we can’t help. No exceptions. We’re not being mean, just our policy.

2. No Late Night Visits: If you’re coming in to pick up your firearm, arrive at least 15 minutes before closing. We close promptly because... well, security reasons.

3. One Week to Pick Up: You’ve got a week to grab your gun. After that, it's a $5/day storage fee unless we’ve agreed to hold it longer. If we don’t hear from you for 30 days, we’re keeping it. Sorry, not sorry.

4. Fees: The FFL transfer fee is $30 per firearm. If you’re transferring more than one, each additional serial number is just $15. And if you don’t have a Nevada Concealed Permit, there’s an extra $25 for the background check. Yes, we charge you whether the background check gets "delayed" or "denied."

5. Denied Background? If it’s denied, you’re still on the hook for the transfer and background fees. You are also responsible for the return to the online seller. If the firearm isn’t returned within 30 days, it’ll become ours (don't worry, we’ll even give it a good home).

6. Class 3 NFA Transfers: We handle these too! The fee is $50 per item, + eform file submission fee, and we’ll help with everything—from fingerprinting to filing.

Extra Fun Fees (Just Because We Love NFA Items)

  • NFA Trust (Optional) - $79

  • EFORM File Submission - $75

  • Additional Serial #'s - $50
    (During same transaction)

  • Additional Prints - $45
    (Includes fingerprints, photos, RPQ)
Normally for Trust creation with more than one trustee)

  • Tax Stamp - $200
(NFA implemented on each NFA item due at time of submission)

Good News!
If you purchase any firearm or NFA item directly from Nordstrom Guns, the ‘transfer’ fees are waived. That’s right—just the pure joy of getting your gun. (“extra fun fees” still apply for NFA items)

Nordstrom Guns Return Policy

At Nordstrom Guns, we take customer service seriously. We want you to be happy with your purchase, and we’ll do our best to make things right if something’s off. That said, guns and gear aren’t like socks—you can’t just toss 'em back in the box and return them. So here’s how returns work around here:

Before You Buy
Not sure about a product? Ask us first! Returns can be a hassle (for everyone), so it's always better to get your questions answered before pulling the trigger—literally or figuratively.

The Not-So-Fine (But Important) Print
• All returns require prior approval. Don’t surprise us—give us a call first.
• Returns must be made within 10 days of purchase and include your receipt.
• A 10% restocking fee applies to all returned items—because someone’s gotta clean, rebox, and restock that thing.
• Items must be in new, unused condition with original packaging, accessories, and documentation. Basically, like you never even opened it.
• Clearance items? All sales final. Deep discounts mean no take-backs.

Items You Can’t Return (Like Ever)
Here’s the no-go list. No exceptions, no debates, no “but I only used it once” conversations:
• Firearms
• Silencers / Suppressors
• Ammunition
• Pepper Spray
• Optics, Flashlights, Lasers
• Barrels & Barreled Receivers
• Gun Parts & Tools

All sales final. You buy it, you own it. Forever. Or at least until you trade it in.

Accessories
Got buyer’s remorse on that fancy scope mount?
• Return within 10 days with a receipt.
• Must be in brand-new, uninstalled, untouched-by-human-hands condition.
• 10% restocking fee applies unless you’re swapping it for something else shiny (of equal or greater value).

Used & Consignment Firearms
• Sold as-is, with all their quirks, scratches, and stories.
• No returns, no exchanges, no complaints (okay, maybe just one sigh of “dang it”).
• Think of them as pre-loved.

Manufacturer Warranty
All new items are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. If something goes haywire, your best bet is to contact the manufacturer directly.
